Veg in the Shed was set up in August 2018 as Launceston did not have an independent fruit and veg shop in the town. The only options available were the supermarkets.
I was so fed up with the lack of quality and excessive packaging that the supermarkets had to offer.
My aim when setting up Veg in the Shed was to offer fresh, local and organic vegetables to Launceston without all the excessive plastic.
Over the last two years I have had the privilege to worked with some amazing local growers and producers and we have a great relationship. So when you buy from Veg in the Shed you are not just supporting a small business but also the amazing local growers and producers.
In August 2020 I expanded the Veg in the Shed shop. This allowed me to add a dry refill section helping reduce the amount of packaging, a large selection of refillable cleaning products, offering a more sustainable option of shopping. A greater range of vegetarian and vegan products plus health and beauty products.
